Barrett Zheng: No, you cannot cite general knowledge in an essay. If citations are required (or you can't get a good grade without them), you need to find new information on the topic which you can use and can cite. Everything that is not cited in the essay should be something that you learned through your professor on the topic.I know it sucks, but 2 months from now you won't even care! lol...But seriously, ask your professor. You definitely cannot risk doing something like that when there is nothing in the APA books about citing general knowledge....Show more
