Is NOAA weather radio also NOAA all hazards radio?

Willie Tun: Metro is close but off the mark. They are the same. What you receive will depend on your local weather service. In many areas the NAtional Weather Service (NWS) is closely linked with the Emergency Alert System (EAS). If that's the case you will get all of the EAS alerts on your weather radio. If not then you will only get weather related stuff. Those of us in the Broadcast EAS areas are trying to get all NWS stations on board, but sometimes it is hard. They don't have the budget. Here in Las Vegas, we got a grant to buy the local NWS the needed equipment and I maintain it for them as a volunteer. Marion Wieboldt: Not quite the same......The NOAA weather radio only offers weather and may have a weather alert function on the radio.......The all hazards radio offers important weather announcements and your radio will also receive other emergency! announcements such as:â—¦Child Abduction Emergency (Amber Alert)â—¦Nuclear Power Plant Warningâ—¦Biological Hazard Warningâ—¦Civil Emergency Messageâ—¦Fire Warningâ—¦Landslide WarningI'm not exactly sure how the technology for the all hazards radio works..... I was under the impression those radios were also AM / FM...... Not just weather only..... I took a quick look at these radios on ebay and did see some radios offered as all hazards when in fact I knew they were not.......I think an all hazard radio has the S.A.M.E. feature......
