Television & Children?

Hunter Osterberger: check online for things in ur area for example in my area we don't have much but we have an indoor fun center and bowling is only $3, open gymnastics is $7, playclimber is $5. We have a couple indoor pools with waterslides for about $5 or they offer family rates. Check around for playgroups and check the paper. We also have a farmers market and flea market on the weekends that can be fun sometimes. obviously parks and wading pools when its nice. Walking trails are also great. If you want stuff to do at home you can get some cheap toys from the dollar store (i did this in the summer and filled it with water guns and water baloons, bubbles etc), bury it in the back yard and make up some clues by drawing pictures and sent them on a hunt around the house.- Make ur own playdoh-make a pupprt theater from a box and puppets out of toilet rolls and use pop sticks. Put velcro on them so they stick to the box (we did goldilocks, and the 3 bears, 3 pigs and the big! bad wolf)-sock puppets or paper plate masks

Warren Kotter: Library, it's free.

Cassidy Pangrazio: haha wat r u taking about tiger what mistakes did she make, she had me at 29! lol

Ardell Luy: I am constantly trying to find things for my kids to do during the day! Have any suggestions?Kids ages are 5,3, and a baby.

Terrell Voltz: you can always put a a password protected keypad idk wat's the kind of ur phone but u will find it in security settings probably

Shon Almquist: my son was watching tv asap cuz of the channel noggin it is a preschool channel and i felt it was very educational and there was nothing there to give him bad influnace but now at the age of 6yrs old he and i sit down after watching something and i ask him what he has learned from it and yes sometimes i do let him watch something that are not educational and yes he watchs some horror movies with me and likes um and does not have night mares lucky for him and i

Cassondra! Vanholland: dig a whole. then fill it back in.

Fermin T! ara: It's OK for your brother to have a bf (do you just mean friend?) but not for you to have a romantic interest in a boy? That is comparing apples and oranges. Your brother having a male friend is like you having female friends. A bf can get you pregnant and/or give you a STD. If you mean that your brother is allowed to have a gay partner, then you do have a case.

Monica Voltin: you should talk to a fmaily court lawyer or judge that specializes in these situations. you have the same rights as the mother but unfortunately i don't think so when it comes to the naming of the child.

Rubi Romo: Studies say as long as possible. Reality says when you NEED that break!!

Toshiko Reimers: it depends on the program you let them watch..babies have an habit of grasping thinks happening around them..this stage sets their character...child programs offered are only to childrens of 19 months n above...but still younger children grasps and it even shape thier charact! er..dont make them watch horrible n voilence scenes until 10...till then avail them good laguage, cutural &knowledge oriented programs

Russ Kiernan: This incredibly isn't genuine. I take it that the mothers and fathers have been in no way married so there grew to become into no divorce. If there have been a divorce, the toddler could get carry of into the everlasting custody of one parent or the different by skill of regulation. yet whilst the mothers and fathers have been in no way married and that they simply cut up up, the mummy can sue the daddy over the fact that he took the toddler and could additionally ***** that the daddy isn't taking good care of the toddler wisely cared for. as some distance by way of fact the SS verify is in contact, it must be mailed to somebody and SS does not merely exchange the handle on everyone's say so... So there seems to be extra to the tale. yet do no longer blame the police and CPS, by way of fact they could desire to do all they! could to stick to the regulation and if the regulation for this reason! is murky and iffy, what can they do?...Show more

Mickey Isle: Since she pays for it, the phone is hers. You just have the honor of getting to use it. Don't like it? Buy your own.

Tracy Huesso: Lots of creative play. We make up games. One of our newest ones is "Find the missing letter" in which I hide one of her letters (it's a small foam one, but you can use one you write on a piece of paper or a flash card or a wooden letter puzzle piece) while she's out of the room. When she comes back she has to find it. Because my DD is only 2, I don't hide it too well and I also give her clues if she's having trouble finding it. It keeps my daughter entertained and she also learns her letters this way. You could hide other things as well.Kids usually love to bake/cook. They could also help out with dinner. Age appropriate tasks. My DD loves bath time. Sometimes we fill up the tub just to play in it.Indoor picnic (picnic on a blanket) for lunch time.Make up and writ! e their own story. You can help with the words while they illustrate the pages.Send a letter/picture to Grandma & Grandpa, friends, etc.We have a small plastic pool that I brought indoors for the winter. I filled it up with plastic play balls. Both my 2 yr old and 9 mos. old love to play in it.

Dalila Yoon: ok im 15 and i understand that she pays for it and everything but im not suppose to have a bf ever but i manage to have one anyways behind her back and sometimes they'll randomly text and say wad up babe,hi love,or wats up cutie.and my mom see' s that and she will go off and take my phone away and that will be the end of that or she'll really enbarres me by calling them.so how do i stop her from seeing my phone oh and btw im 15. oh and is it right for you not to have a bf but your brother whos the same age as u can have a bf when ever he likes, she must think im stupied....Show more

Clare Hoard: i think that when the two parents disagree that it's really ha! rd to fix it either way. chances are, the mother will win out, but i k! now that when you go to determine custody and such, you can make your case to the judge and it might work. My sisters husband had a child from a one night stand before he met my sis, and when he found out the kid was his, he got the boy's last name legally changed right away. I don't think the mom fought it really, but i know he is now a Melton and not a Taft (which is the name he was given at birth)...Show more

Jayson Brod: go to the parkmake craftsplay outside

Kiersten Clayburn: More specific activities...I know to take my kids to the park and color

Elvin Weichbrodt: Their are several ways to answer your question. But in order to give you the best answer I must ask you how much time do you view TV, and what type of program's do you prefer.Behind those beautiful little eyes is a fresh hungry mind recording and learning everything it see and hear.So if really want to be on the safe side start with PBS.But limit the time, also incorporate family view tim! e....Show more

Cuc Gire: anytime they show some interest. Make sure you limit the amount of time they watch, and what they watch. The Baby's FirstTV is really really good for babies. How old is your kid?

Enriqueta Steffen: SELL SELL SELL!!!!

Travis Sherrock: involve them in making a cake or cookies , kick a ball outside ( its great for you & fun for the kids ) get play dough you can make it yourself just look for a recipe on how to make play dough online food colouring to make different colours and get the kids to join & a chose the colours they want they play dough ..get crayons & let them draw ( just keep an eye on them & make sure they don't eat it or it ends up all over the walls ) hand painting is good get some paint ( even if its two colours ) get them to paint their foot & hands & put it on paper its messy but that's the whole point of being a kid :)and make your own flash cards and get the kids to decorate them then use it as a learning thing ! like A for Apple draw the letter A then an apple get them to colour it ! in ( its a great way for them to learn & have fun ) :) or do some gardening get some cucumber seeds or whatever seeds find an area in the yard which can be dug up get them to dig a hole put the seeds in & cover it then the fun part water em ( get a bit dirty in the meantime lol) and they can watch it grow over time make it a daily thing to go check the progress of it & get them to water it .....

German Thal: if you are unmarried sadly there is nothing you can do....be hopefull she even puts you on the birth certificate!!! a friend of mine was fighting with the mother of his kid and she put "father unknown" so sadly you have to sit back and relax....and hope for the best....why didn't you marry her if your so concerned about the last name???

Dexter Dicostanzo: hide ur phone

Raye Tredennick: Wait until they are 2 1/2 or 3. Anytime before that isn't good for their brains or eyes. They make all these tv shows for infants and baby einstein stuff but those are h! orrible for your children. TV at an early age puts them at risk for ADHD because their brains can't comprehend the pictures and sounds as fast as the tv is showing them.

Venetta Coulbourne: Children should never watch TV until they are at least ten years old. It puts way too many ideas into their heads! After that only G rated movies!

Jene Kostyla: nicely, you're suitable -- they "sorta" have the final, no question approximately it. as long as they are figuring out to purchase it, you have no longer any rights in any admire. monitoring telephone calls is easily sturdy parenting -- why shouldn't a parent be attentive to the human beings her toddler is in touch with? to boot, do no longer hardship throwing them away -- with our cellular plan, i will verify on line. :-D in the different case it won't gets a commission that month, after which you will no longer have a telephone in any respect! i think of, however, if I have been your mom, i'd draw the line at quiz! zing you on the topic of the contents of your telephone calls, till I h! ad a reason (previous drug use, violent boy buddy, etc.) to be nerve-racking. I merely desire to appreciate who she is speaking to. And my daughter, who's additionally a senior in extreme college, is conscious that I evaluate the charges and if i detect her making calls after 10 pm or on an identical time as she must be on the line applying, she will have the means to lose her telephone for a minimum of a week....Show more

Aubrey Tirri: so are you like her real dad or her step dad...if you are her real dad all kids get there dads last name...you'd probley have to go to a legal forms place or somthing for her to get two lasts names or her moms last name only, but I think if you are the real dad she should already have your last name but if you are her step dad you don't have a right to give her your last name, if you mean foster parent i think you can get a legal form

Melina Minneweather: I want my daughter to have her mothers and my last name. Ex: xxxxx/xxxxxxB! ut me and her dont get along and she wont let me. Do I have a legal right to use my last name?

Abel Adger: Don't let them at all...once they start it is hard to get them to stop!

Mauro Cowee: Her name has to go by the birth certificate. If you are the father, and the 2 of you agree that you are then you won't have to take a paternitity test. If one of you says No then you'll have to take the test. As far as the last name I think it's what the mother puts down. Contact social services in your area, they should be able to tell you.

Thomas Riner: Keep them away as long as possible. But most kids do not develop an interest in what is on tv until they are almost 1 1/2 to 2 years (in my experience). Then limit the amount of time they watch. I will admit that I use the tv as a babysitter so that I can get a shower, but I also will take tv away from them when they are behaving really badly (my middle girl has earned this for one week).

Maye Delk: Free play (! independently do things on their own)Arts and Crafts (crayons, glue, pa! int, collages, play dough)Music and Story timeOut door play (park: swings, slide, bikes, etc)Dance timeMuseums/ Zoo/ ParkSidewalk Chalk (let your kids go artistically wild)Hide and seek (whether it be hunt the teddy with his/her stuffed animals)Indoor bowlingSimon Says (I used to love this as a kid) or Red Light, Green Light...Show more

Len Dalba: sorry i met its oka for him to have gf but i cant have a bf,and i understand all of that she thinks im stupied i no when to say no to sex and all of that im not stupied like them other girls who end up gettin pregnant.

Maritza Ebanks: uhmm have your bf txt u somthing like hi..and if ur mom isnt watching then u can b like its ok shes not here...but if she is then u can just say its ur girlfriend..o nd b lucky u have a phone lol im a guy nd 15 nd stilll dont have one. hope this helped cuz my mom does the same with me

Alden Soldano: as soon as he/she sits. It depends on what you let your child watch. cbeebies is a g! ood channel on sky for children and when they are a little grown up you could continue them with some cartoons. You should also let there be some moderation

Luana Carothers: Go to your local supermarket and ask if they have any cardboard boxes they don't need. The kids can decorate them and turn them into a fort if they're big enough to crawl through.Plants are cheap...$2 for a bag of potting soil, $1 for some styrofoam cups, and 50 cents for a pack of seeds. Let them grow their own flowers or veggies. It takes patience, but they will have fun getting to watch them grow.Stringing beads is fun and helps with fine motor skills. You can buy alphabet beads and help them learn to spell their names.Baking is fun. You can buy baking mixes for anything...cake, cookies, brownies...and they're cheap usually only $1 or $2. Egg carton caterpillars are always cute... you just need an empty egg carton and some paint.

German Thal: Delete all text messages. Delete all records o! f what you did on your phone.

Terrell Lawman: I didn't allow my s! on to watch television until he was 4 years old (he is now 6). Instead of watching cartoons I would read to him. Once he was able to walk he would bring out book after book for me to read to him. When he turned 4 I decided he could watch some tv, not very much and only shows I chose. I am so glad I didn't let him watch tv until later on in life. I am sure it is a main part of the reason that he loves reading, learning and is so bright. He has always been more advanced than other kids in his class and has a true love for learning. I dont know if he would be as smart as he is now if I had let him watch tv from birth. I am sure that without all the book reading we did together he would not have developed such a love for books.I strongly encourage you to wait as long as you can. There is no reason for kids to be sitting around in front of the tv. I figure if it isnt educational then he is better off playing in his room or with friends using his own imagination! As parents it is! our job to do every thing we can to help our child learn and grow, so even though it may seem easier to plop a kid infront of the tv so you can do house work or whatever, you have to remember that everything you do with your child is helping to build the foundation of their future....Show more

Lana Uliano: You can try to Password protect, since you're a Minor, your Mom can call the Cell Provider and request the Password. She is protective of you and she does not want you to make the same mistakes she made when she was your age.Sit down and have a Heart to Heart with her and let her know you will not do anything 'Adult' with your BF....Show more

Elli Esaw: YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE A TEST DONE TO PROVE THE CHILD IS YOURS AND THEN YES YOU HAVE ALL THE RIGHTS YOU WANT TO GET WHAT YOU WANT. I DO BELEIVE THE CHILD SHOULD HAVE FATHERS NAME ANYWAY

Rufus Plough: How can you stop her?Become 18.Get a job.move out.Buy your own cell phone and pay your own cell phone bil! l.Problem solved!...Show more

Amina Motzer: I would say around 2.! 5 to 3 years. There are many educational programs on PBS and cable that are gears towards younger audiences. And they are entertaining to the child as well. It's your job as a parent to monitor your child watches from the time you decide they begin viewing until they can made an intelligent decision on the matter. The fact that you are asking shows you are a responsible parent. Good luck.

Azalee Ahrendes: Go to the dollar store- you can get bubbles, sidewalk chalk, hula hoops, jumpropes, etc. Buy some beach shovels/pails/sand molds. How about a kite- they make smaller ones now.If you do not have a sandbox, you can get the sand for one very inexpensively at Home Depot or Lowe's. One of those cheap plastic pools works well to hold it.Buy a sprinkler (well, when the weather gets a little warmer) and let them run around the backyard playing in the sprinkler.Go on a nature watch in your backyard, around the neighborhood or at some other location. Look for intere! sting leaves, shiny rocks, animal tracks, feathers, etc.Play Doh- you can buy it or make your own (the edible version can be fun to make and play with and then snack on). You can buy a pack of 100 cookie cutters at stores like Wal Mart, Target, or Bed, Bath and Beyond for about $10 and they can double for cutting sandwhiches or cookies into shapes. The library and most book stores have story time which is free, and usually includes an activity.Look for a playgroup. When my older two were little we were in a playgroup. Some get together in public locations, such as a park. Some take turns hosting in each others homes. Sometimes we would go on outings (the aquarium, for instance) and sometimes we would have Moms Night Out.Buy a planter and some seeds and plant some flowers, or if you have room you can plant them in your yard. My 3 year old is loving watching our flowers grow.Music- buy a CD with songs for children and dance and make up movements to them. You can also us! e musical instruments- either the ones you can buy or you can make some! yourself.Arts and crafts- crayons, coloring books, fingerpainting, glitter and glue, pipe cleaners and cotton balls, scissors (safety ones and supervise carefully), stickers, etc. are all very inexpensive.Books- while at the library, borrow books!DVDs- the library probably has DVDs you can borrow as well. Look for some that might contain good activities or lessons, and/or perhaps one that teaches sign language or Chinese or another language.Magazines! High Five (Highlights for younger children), Pack O Fun, Your Big Backyard, Little National Geographic are some of our favorites. Most include activity ideas in them, related to the season/holiday around the issue. The library has these to borrow as well if you do not want to buy or subscribe to them!Websites! There is NOTHING wrong with computer or television time in moderation, they are great resources! My children like watching the live animal cams that are at most zoo websites. Google Earth is another favorite (vis! it your own home, grandparents home, other places they are familiar with). Sites for stations such as NickJr, PBSKids, The Hub, etc. have all sorts of activities. Starfall is a favorite educational website.Television shows- My three year old daughter loves Bob the Builder, Ni Hao, Kai-Lan and Thomas the Train.Puzzles! Board games such as Memory or Chutes and Ladders.Ready for Kindergarten by Sharon Wilcox (I ordered from Amazon.com) is a favorite resource and has some good ideas in it. You can adjust it as necessary for their ages/abilitites (it is easy to do).Story S-T-R-E-T-C--H-E-R-S is another favorite I got from Amazon. There are several versions for different ages and grade levels. These books give ideas for incorporating fun math, science, language and vocabulary, music, arts and crafts, history, games, even snacks into favorite children's stories.Just play outside- games such as Hokey Pokey, Simon Says, Ring Around the Rosie, Hide & Go Seek, etc.

Andra O! ger: I guess that will depend on the laws in your state but as far as I! know you don't get to decide.

Ruthe Real: Yes you have the right for the child to have your last name as well. You need to be sure you're put on the birth certificate and that you will be admitting to parentage as well as needing to pay child support.

Lewis Ranft: My baby is 9 months is about 9 months and has started to take an interst in the tv. I dont let him sit down and watch it but he is in the room when it is on. Try and leave it for as long as possible and dont draw attention to it. When he does want to watch it try to only let him watch disney dvds.

Idell Mulliniks: Sorry, but the mother gets to choose which last name goes on the birth certificate. BUT, your daughter could eventually adopt your last name, if she wanted to.Good luck, and congrads
