Charline Granes: A paraprofessional may be able to assist your child, but your child should have a certified special education teacher. Sometimes special education students are in regular education classrooms almost the entire day. Nevertheless, there should be a special education teacher who acts as your child's case manager. If you are not happy with the situation, you can request that there be an IEP meeting. You can request that your child be taught by a special education teacher.
