Luke Creitz: Generally yes, Tennessee honors nearly all states' licenses. You just need to apply for an out-of-state teacher's license. After teaching with that, it can be changed to a regular Tennessee state teaching license. You did not specify what your license was in or if it was current. If the license is not current or was an alternative or interim license , you may have additional requirements that you need to meet. If the license was in a vocational or CTE-type track, you may need to show some documentation.Tennessee does require that relevant Praxis II Teaching Exams have been passed for your subject.
