How to make his last day of preschool special?

Alden Sabio: No, that's not what I mean. I mean that he enjoys preschool and will miss the interaction with his friends and teachers and be a bit sad that it's over. Ideas to make him feel more happy about the entire thing and that he's not losing a good thing but just changing.

Ruby Martis: Today is not the day that he will miss preschool. It is tomorrow and the rest of the days that you need to fill with activities to keep him interested and learning. He is accustomed to having a busy and structured day. Try to keep the structure of the day with snacks, lunch and nap/resting time at the same times. Fill the next days with playdates and activities that will replace what he is missing. Go exploring and search for whatever interests him on your walks. Feed the birds or the squirrels. Bake cookies. Play simple board games. Take him with you as you run your errands and take a few minutes to play in the park or other fun activity so that he looks forward to the! time he spends with you. Don't overdo the shopping trips as children (and all of us) get cranky when they are tired. Think back to what you enjoyed when you were a child....Show more

Jannie Ariola: Nothing.I'm tired of schools and people in general in making everything a milestone. The graduation ceremony my kid had for completing pre-school was a crock. I'm much more traditional about these things. Graduating high school, college and/or a trade school or apprenticeship are accomplishments.Same for participation ribbons. Life is a competition. Showing up isn't noteworthy....Show more
