Oscar Wieland: There can be differences between salt water boats and others. For example, motors cooling type is different. There must make some things before transfer is possible. So is it like you brother said, it's not about washing the boat.
Caroyln Ebach: Salt water will cause damage. The exterior should be fine after a good wash, but water does circulate throughout the mechanical components of the motor and erodes them. I'm not sure if you could flush it out without taking the motor completely apart. That would be a pain.
