Jeremy Donohue: All you have to do is sign off of the title and get your check!! When you sign off and he gets a new title it is documented. You can make out a receipt but the title office documents.An as is might be a good thing.
Ardelia Liptow: Get your plates off the car. keep the Registration with you. Remove the car from your insurance ASAP. Call up your DMV and ask if you can get a refund on the Registration.Usually you do have to give a Sale Deed or Receipt for the money. Make sure you write AS IS on the deed. Also write No Warranty or Returns. Get a copy for yourself.
Dalia Causby: Definately write a receipt saying the year, make, and model of the car. Make sure you state that the car is SOLD AS IS! Put in there the date you sold it and how much you sold it for and if it was paid for in full. If balance is owed then state how much the balance is.I would suggest having both of you sign it so he/she can't say later that it's a fake receipt...and make a c! opy for your own records!
