Blaine Connett: Unfortunately I don't have any friends who are vegan/vegetarian. It would be nice but at the end of the day it's no body's business what I put into my mouth, nor do I really care what everyone else around me is putting into theirs.
Jonelle Eligio: you phrased that weirdly. In high school, a lot of my friends became vegetarians after they found out why i am one. in college, now, my boyfriend and his best friend are the only vegetarians i know, SO FAR. :)but itâs really great. and even my small school has a vegan section :)
Valentine Willinger: Well, when I went vegetarian all of my friends were omnivores but I changed 2 of my friends into a vegetarian lifestyle. I didn't make any new friends who are vegetarian just because I became one. It's just a lifestyle, not a matchmaker. But I can see where you're coming from. If I went to some vegetarian convention then i'd probably make new friends.So.... X is greater than Y....Show more
Felipa N! osis: A few friends quasi-converted, but then quickly relapsed. I only have one vegetarian friend, a few friends who claim to be "almost vegetarian", and a few others who claim to be "practically vegetarian". I think that the percentages would be generally close to the national average of 2.5%-7.2%, depending on whose numbers you use. Of course, this would also be influenced by your family (a family of vegetarians will obviously change these numbers) and your social groups (if you are actively involved in animal welfare or vegetarian groups, these numbers will obviously be higher)....Show more
Lupe Sancen: If you're a lacto-ovo vegetarian you don't have to alter any clothing, in my opinion. I mean no offense, and I hope you don't take this the wrong way. I know it sounds horrible, probably. But, if you choose not to wear animal products, leather is out. Fur coats are obviously out as well. Wool is debateable though, because some people belief it's not cruelty, other! s do. Certain shoes, and purses have leather in them, as well ! as some wallets. As for what not to eat. That's a huge food list. Pork, beef, fish, and poultry (obviously.) Some tricky things are glycerin and glucose. (Found in Jell-o, and most chewy candies. Also gummy bears.) I'm not sure what else you would like to know though?! ALSO! Baked Lays chips, (I think BBQ flavored) actually has chicken flavor. Just PLEASE read your labels! Oh, and one more thing! Be careful at certain restaraunts. For example, I work at a Chinese food restaraunt, and the sauces for lo mein, chow mein, and soups can contain chicken, beef and fish stock! I hope this helped!...Show more
Sol Bayn: Actually, none of my family nor my friends are vegan or vegetarian. Before I went vegan, the same was true. I'm all on my own lol.
Patricia Dornbos: I have 0 friends who are vegetarian or vegan. I used to have 1 vegan friend, but she is now an omnivore again.
Arlene Maycumber:
Isaias Badgley: Anything that isn't meat, lacto-ovo vegetarians do ! eat the by-products. As for clothes they wear anything, it's vegans that don't wear anything that came from an animals skin/hide.
Jannie Ariola: I'm 15 and a vegetarian imagine that! My parents supported me 100%. She doesn't usually make me special suppers I just eat everything she makes except the meat. Its hard for me to get protein(im allergic to nuts soy and dairy) so I take vitamins. I suggest becoming one and don't listen to what your Friends and family say or do. As long as you think it's OK to do then don't let anyone stop you. Your parents will eventually get the idea that you're not gonna eat meat so they'll have to make you vegetarian meals. It'll all work out trust me....Show more
Lourie Mcroberts: Back in the day most of my friends were vegan but now days about 25% of them are nonmeat eaters and only 10% of them are actually vegan, if that. I don't become friends with people just because they don't eat meat but it's nice to have vegan friends who ca! n inform you of different things, especially when you're an activist. O! nce I get back to Washington I'll be in contact with more vegans once again.I don't know any vegans here....Show more
Merlin Fleischhacker: No no longer probably. whilst i became into in 6th grade 2 years in the past and that i tryed going veg mom suggested to me " vegetarianism is a pretend american component i'm different places they devour meat" and dad suggested "god positioned animals on earth to devour" and suggested i could no longer have ice cream or some thing if i did no longer devour it. Finalley they allowed me to do it and my mom and dad are extra supportive now. My sister eaven went veg reacently!. My grandpa suggested the Christmas in the previous final Christmas that i would be very skinny once I grew up from no protein and my mothers cousion suggested i might strengthen scientific issues wich made ne snigger reason if any component i would be extra healthy and that i do no longer think of my mothers kinfolk is that supportive yet they're Crimean and a! nd characteristic no longer probably had lots expirience with vegetarisnism....Show more
Faustino Mellerson: Think about the connection between the individuals food and his attitude toward others. Watch fat greedy people eating meat. People manage to swallow it only because they don't think about the crfuel sinful thing they do. People allow their hearts to grow callous. And we must not criticize them. But people with feelings become vegetarians. Flesh foods are not necessary for us at any stage.Your age doesn't matter. Do they allow you to eat any food? Its not all meat is it? Eat a piece of bread. Peanut butter. Anything. Ask the Creator Who made you to increase your sensitivities, and teach you. It take no great money or permission to stop eating corpses. Look at them, shudder and pick up something more appetizing to eat....Show more
Melvin Nakama: Unrelated. Veg are on all sides of the political spectrum.
Lue Podewils: Food: meat, fish, gelatin ! from animal sources, glycerin from animal sources, rennet from you gues! sed it: animal sources. Clothes: leatherCosmetics: lanolinPersonally I wear wool as sheep need to be sheared, though only have two jumpers that came from wool processed at a friend's farm where the sheep are gently handled and sheared safely....Show more
Curt Broadhead: Long Live BILL O'REILLY!!!!!!!!
Rosann Mccomb: One becomes a vegetarian by eating meat at ever meal.
Marco Stolarz: um, there are different versions of Vegetarians and vegans and vegetarians could mean just no cattle or cow (milk and all) and vegan being just no meat (pig, chicken, eggs, fish, cattle).I think that parents should have some tolerance on what you believe and how you would go your way to act on it. I am a 13 year old girl who find political views different than my parents but my parents know that my views are me and that if they were to change my views, that they would be changing your ideas and concepts and what you believe is right and wrong. If all they ever eat is meat (a! nd I tried this idea) like actuall breakfast, lunch, and dinner, meat, meat, meat, then try to budget your meat intake or something. You could also point out that fruits and vegetables are also required in a daily diet for balanced nutrition. You don't have to eat meat all the time. But you could also lower your meat intake and try to stick to more of your vegetarian ideas as snacks, breakfastes and lunches and only eat small portions of meat..wow, I typed a lot....O_O...Show more
Rosio Pasculli: Do a little research on nutrition in general and vegetarian sources of protein specifically. It is not hard to get all your required nutrients, protein included, on a vegetarian diet but it's something your parents will likely be worried about. The best thing you can do to overcome their objections is go to them armed with the facts.I was 16 and my sister was 14 when we stopped eating meat and I guess we were lucky because my mom supported us wholeheartedly. Try reassur! ing your mom (or whoever does the shopping and cooking) that you don't ! expect a whole separate meal, but that there are a few things you'd like to add to the grocery list. You're old enough to help with the cooking and that way you can adapt what's being eaten by the rest of the family to be suitable for you. If they're having burgers, for example, you can cook yourself a boca patty instead. If they're having spaghetti with meatballs, you can ask your mom to hold out a little of the sauce for you before she puts the meatballs in.Hopefully once they see that you are serious, that you are going about it in a healthy way and that you are not going to try to preach to them that they should be vegetarian too, they will not think it's so "dumb."...Show more
Carlton Lastrapes:
Mauro Cowee: Before I went Vegetarian, I knew two Vegans in my high school. While being Vegetarian, I knew one Vegan in person (not the same person). Since I've been (nearly) Vegan, I don't have any contact on a daily basis with anybody who is Vegetarian or Ve! gan.Don't know if I helped but there's my two cents.
Elbert Donatelli: Read. Find recipes. Offer to cook at home, even stuff like baked stuffed shells- meat isn't missed as much by the family if there is enough cheese to make everyone bloated. Keep reading and tinkering in the kitchen. Browse the vegetarian section of the bookstore and make you Christmas list from it. Cut out meat as best you can. Read about health issues. At 15 you have the chance to move out in three short years and live life on your own terms. Take the time now to work out some recipes to keep with you for your life later on. Don't preach to your family, it will just annoy them, treasure the relationship with them and leave the meat issue alone aside from it being "your new little hobby."...Show more
Lizzette Wendroth: I tried once. I am a HUGE animal lover, and it is so true that the animals are slaughtered in really inhumane ways. But think hard about all of what you will be cutt! ing out...NO meat on pizza...no sausage, bacon, hamburgers, hot dogs, ! ribs, pork, chicken, ham, turkey, and more! It's definitely easier said than done. Also, meat has a lot of proteins and nutrients that our bodies need. If you do decide, you just have to make sure to eat TONS of fruits and veggies, and make sure you are getting the proper nutrients. It's pretty much a given that if you don't eat meat, you pretty much have to eat fish as an alternative. If you are really serious about it, your parents should support you. Ask them for the foods that you like. If not, just go through your cabinets and find the non-meat food and eat that. Maybe if you eat all of the non-meat food in the house and drain it dry, your family will get annoyed and buy more!? lol...Personally, what I do is instead of giving up meat...I volunteer at local pet shelters, and I also help PETA members write letters to the government and stuff. That way, I am still helping the cause (animal rights), but I still eat meat in moderation. It's VERY hard to not eat an! y meat at all. It really depends on WHY you want to be a vegetarian...animal rights, you think meat is gross, etc...GOOD LUCK!!!...Show more
Caryl Mclaen: im vegan ..and the only other veg i know is my niece..oh and my dads boss..who ive met..once in my life..
Arlen Decorte: Check out the following links: http://www.goveg.com for info....and also..http://goveg.com/order.asp to order your own FREE egetarian starter kit, it will help you out alot during the transition...and will also help educate you and possibly even your family as to why you are not into eating meat:)I was BORN a vegetarian, but it took me nearly 30 yrs to realize "I dont HAVE to eat meat anymore, I never liked it anyway " etc..and I became veg. for my b-day resent to myself that year in 1998!There are soooo many alternatives out there for us veg. heads...Morning Star Farms, Boca, Quorn (found at Whole foods market) brands have much to offer! You just follow your heart, tell your family how much! it means to you..and hey if ya have to, just eat "around" the meat unt! il you can buy your own substitues, or convince your family to help you there....it is SO much healthier-vegetable protein is SO much better for our bodies than meat protein. I dont eat meat because of the horrible ways the meat animals are tortured and slaughtered..I just cant do it. example...We go to Mickey D's and order Big macs w/meat on the side (doggies love it;) and sub. our Boca patties for the hamburger when we get home...there are soooooo many ways to be a happy eater and still be vegetarian!Google it, and research it..you wont be sorry you did:)Peace to you and yours.....Jill Anderson...Show more
George Dingeldein: i started when i was about 13 and no one else is a vegetarian in my family. just eat a lot of salads and beans and dont eat the meat dishes.
Faviola Dewire: I've been waiting to become one...but it's hard. My family thinks it dumb and all they ever eat is meat. I'm only 15, so it's not like I can go out and buy my own food.
Ronnie Pa! nas: For me? No. But people tend to gravitate toward people who share the same beliefs. But then again, I'm almost 30, married with kids and settled. It would probably be different if I was in high school or college and socializing was a big part of my life. My social circle is pretty "fixed" and most socializing involves my immediate and extended family. But I would imagine if I was in college I would probably try to find social groups that are like me. :-)Oh, and yea, everyone thinks I'm a weirdo for the way that I eat. So it probably complicates things, yea. It doesn't bother me that much though. I'm happy with myself and my husband supports me and that's all that matters!...Show more
Joaquin Dronko: My guess is X
Antwan Schrum: I don't have a telly - or live in the USA so I have no idea, but I would not have thought so, it is important to keep up with the news and current affairs.
Julee Lanham: Honestly, anyone who isn't a 100 percent right-wing nutj! ob shouldn't to be on FOX news.
Soraya Coodey: I'm a bit confused! about some stuff, like wool, are lacto-ovo vegetarians not supposed to wear it?
Myriam Hetjonk: Funny question Vegans dont consume either
Hunter Beech: No. Sometimes they are the only ones telling the truth about Obama.
Shena Etulain: What does propaganda have to do with being a vegetarian or vegan
Elbert Donatelli: All the omnivorous friends I had prior to being vegan are still my friends, and I still make friends with omnivores (they also love my cooking). Since becoming vegan, I have made one real vegan friend. That's pretty much it.
Marjory Stromme: The most basic criteria for being, by definition, an ovo-lacto-vegetarian is not simply not eat any animals or anything an animal had to die for. "Vegetarians donât eat:⢠Meat⢠Poultry⢠Game⢠Fish, shellfish and crustacea⢠Slaughterhouse by-products such as gelatine, rennet and animal fats."That is the list from the Vegetarian Societyhttp://www.vegsoc.org/newveg/fft/basics.htmlGel! atin can be found in Starburst, frosted Pop Tarts, jello, marshmallows etc.Animal rennet can be found in some cheeses. If you wanted to expand your vegetarianism into clothing, then you can choose to dropleather, suede, wool, down, fur.Avoiding animal-based clothing is not a requirement of vegetarianism, but I find it to be a good thing....Show more
Jacinta Moitoso: Check out this site and follow the links. You will find all the information you could ever need to know about becoming, and following a vegetarian lifestyle. Kandi Lough: Unfortunately, in my case, X is greater than Y.My only vegan friends are on the internet. ^^After becoming vegan I tried to seek out people with similar lifestyles and beliefs, and vegan forums and websites were the e! asiest way to do that.In the real world, however, I don't have any vega! n friends. Some of my longtime friends have considered becoming vegan, and I may have had some influence in a few of them making actual changes to their diet, but none are fully vegan....Show more
Darrin Hixenbaugh: Vegans and vegetarians are individuals with individual opinions on a wide variety of subjects. Your question incorrectly assumes that they are of one mind.
Tracy Huesso: i have no vegetarian/vegan friends and i don't know any other vegetarian/vegan people
Karl Samiec: It really depends on the vegetarian. Some just don't eat flesh, others are more strict. Back in my lacto-ovo days, I wouldn't eat meat, lard, gelatin, or use products made with them. I also wouldn't wear leather or fur. But I've met lots of vegetarians that don't have a problem buying leather. It's all about the person and what's right for them. There aren't any "rules."
Patricia Dornbos: Being veg*an has nothing to do with whether or not one watches Fox Noise. Howev! er, there are conservative vegans out there who may watch that channel. And there are liberal vegans who think it's the media arm of the Republican Party. If someone wants to watch it, that's fine. I'll give them a saltshaker.
