Verdie Wollen: Addiction is something unique to certain people. I'm sure you've heard the stories of 1,000lb people who keep eating pizza until they become bedridden. I mean I like pizza, but I'm never going to be that guy!Each person has their own addictive qualities. Personally I can't understand why people pay a fortune to go and watch NASCAR all the time, or even go watch a football game every week of the season.But gambling is fun. Casinos create an exciting atmosphere, and there is always that (slim) chance of winning a fortune. Last time I was in Vegas, some guy won $12m on a slot machine. Imagine winning that kind of money for an investment of a couple of bucks.So while thousands of people enjoy some casual gambling, some people take it too far, bet more than they can afford to lose, and eventually get in to all kinds of trouble financially....Show more

Roni Kurz: When I walk through casinos I see people with up to $1000 in a slot machine betting $5 at a time as though its nothing, also these people do not look that rich. Voncile Slaubaugh: A gambling addiction is the same as drugs, smoking, alcohol, shopping, porn, etc. Addiction is a sickness that needs attention and most times is driven from other factor in a person's life. If you know somebody that has no control of how much they gamble please get them some help.

It maybe they are seeking the rush just for fun oen weekend or maybe they are adicted. For players that beleive they have a SYSTEM, +99% of these peopel do not really have a workign system but some peopel do. There are ways to beat almost every game in the casino, and some peopel make a living doing so. Regardless of weather or not their system is valid, it the simple fact that THEY BELEIVE they will make money that makes them come and play.For me, i view playign blackjack as an investment opportunity, I do have a valid proven way to make money, it known as card counting, shuffle tracking, and card sequencing. Robt Heemstra: i think people like gambl! ing because life is a gamble. Everytime you get into a car or airplane you are taking a risk. If you decide to walk the whole way instead u take a risk you dont get hit by a drunk driver. See where im going with this?I mean people have fallen ot of bed before and broken their necks its rare but it happens. I have said this before and im sure i will again this is a risk versus reward world we are living in. No in the long run you can never beat the house but that doesnt mean u cant win millions along the way.
