Derrick Smsith: I amways loved animals and I was always feeling guilty when eating them. i went to a website called peta.org and i watched a few of there vieo's. I must have cried for a week. Since then i have vowed to live cruelty free, i won't eat animal products nor will i wear them. that was a personal choice for me and it made me really feel good inside not to support such a abusive heartless industry. I now have my children and my husband on a vegetarian diet as well for all the same reasons. I feel if it's not in one's heart to do it for the animals sake one will go back to eating meat. Love, respect and loyalty is what keeps me a vegetarian....Show more
Luana Carothers: I'm vegetarian because it's better for me, the animals and the Earth.it takes up 4 acres of land to feed one omnivore (cattle grazing)and only HALF an acre to feed a vegetarian! so 8 veggies could eat using the land that 1 omni takes up! also, it take something like 7 lbs. of grain to process! 1 lb. of meat! so that's again, 7 veggies eating instead of one omni! there's so much malnutrition and poverty and food shortage, rising grain prices and stuff so really this just makes sense....Show more
Julieta Suleiman: i LOVE trivia nights......you could do a celebrity veg game and have everyone form teams and try to guess who a celebrity vegetarian or vegan is from clues that you give. for example:what vegetarian actor starred in the following films?cluelessblast from the pastbatman & robinanswer: alicia silverstoneyou could ask 20 or so questions like this and whatever team comes up with the most correct answers could get free appetizers or something.......trivia nights are fun i think, and they get people talking and banding together. it's a great time!you could always ask other vegetarian/vegan vendors (clothing companies, bath/beauty products that are animal-testing free, etc.) to set up little booths and have kind of a vegetarian expo......that would be a! great way to introduce other veg companies to your restaurant! and get the whole veg community involved....Show more
Gaylord Barragan: Four years ago I watched a video called "meet your meat" and after that I made the decision to become a vegetarian. I've always loved animals and to me eating them just wasn't right. Not only do I not eat meat, I never wear anything made from animals and when I buy make up or hair products I make sure that it is not tested on animals. I've decided to dedicate my life to working with animals and I'm enjoying it. I've been vegetarian for 4 years now and I'm proud of it.
Damaris Weiler: Because I believe everyone is equal in this world, even animals, we are animals too, and I hate how we feel superior to every other animal. I know we can talk, but it does not mean we own their lives. I try to respect everyone, because that is what I want, respect. I don't think it is my job to kill them just for satisfaction, there are more things to eat and to wear, and it makes me happy to know I don't eat ! them, because they deserve to live as much as we do, they feel pain, they get scare as much as we do. I want a better world, in every aspect, but we have to teach other generations to be more kind and compassionate. ...Show more
Cole Desher: I grew tired of eating meat. and i realized i never actually liked it. so i decided to become a vegetarian so i would have all the space in my stomach for veggies that i love. :)
Clay Lipira: If they are overpopulated, then they will eventually starve and that will steady the population. Circle of life! And for my crops, I would install fencing, use repellants, and get a noisy dog
Romeo Tinnea: When my husband got cancer I was researching how to prevent getting it myself. I found the book Eat To Beat Cancer. The rest is history....(0:
Hunter Osterberger: I grew up in a farm town, so, I encountered every animal I ate on a daily basis. I remember one day it just clicking--- I was eating the flesh of the cute little! cow that moos at me whenever I drive past her? I just couldn't do it a! nymore. So, I researched what being a vegetarian was like and discovered it to make me a happier, healthy individual. I'm going into my 5th year of vegetarianism and plan to become a vegan chef, and I love it!...Show more

Alvaro Oare: Deer don't eats cats.
Karie Mavle: I did it for the cool title and I love carrots.
Marielle Hedeiros: I'm not a vegetarian, but my diet is mostly vegetarian these days. It helps with my weight management and also helps with my cholesterol. I still eat a little meat as I can't do without it, but I do eat fish at least three times a week. I feel great and probably much older than most on here>Lara M: Unfortunately Lara people do kill people. Everytime we have a war thousands of people die, some in worse circumstances to any animal....Show more
Denna Prudente: Yes. They are going to die anyways, only in a more terrible! way. We have killed off all of their natural predators (wolves and whatnot) so that is why they over populate. A bullet is better than starvation if in my opinion. Interesting question though.
Scot Rotruck: The hell? Deer don't eat cats. O_o
Rhett Kaines: i became a veggie 2 years ago because i think it's so wrong eating meat, eating something that has just as much right to live as we do.people don't go around killing other people just to eat them (unless they're cannibals lol) so why should we kill innocent animals?plus i want to be a vet when i'm older so i think it'd be a bit hypocritical, saving animals all day then going home and eating some....Show more
Octavio Roylance: Theres a video called 'meet your meat' on youtube. its a 12 minute documentary. a little on each animal.once you know how that meat got to your plate, you don't really want to be the cause of that.i turned vegetarian when i was young and realised the little bunny that was bouncing a! round in my story books was what i ate for lunch. i only saw what was h! appening in slaughterhouses much later. compassion. i can't be a part of that....Show more

Madlyn Fallis: My cat?!
Jess Grizzel: Because I don't think people should kill animals just for some nosh.
Colby Millberg: Of course not. I would just buy a bigger cat. The cat would proceed to eat any deer that come too close to my crops.
Wally Perrien: This would only happen if they all had rabies, in which case I ! would look them all in the eyes(to check of course) and shoot them. Thi! s ISN'T realistic.
Lon Pennington: i am not sure to be honest - i am not a peta member or campainer or anything like thati was brought up in a family of vegetarians so i only went out and tried meat just to TRY it - as i never got it at homei continued eating meat occasionally for about a year till one day i was just sitting there thinking WHY? why i am eating dead animals ? have i gone crazy and that was it - it was almost like someone switching the lights on ! I went back to being a vegetarian, thankfully the way i was brought up I am used to not eating meat and cooking a wide variety of stuff without meat in it - which is the main problem for someone trying to give up meat - so i say I am lucky i have the experience which now helps me to continue being a vegetarian LOVING IT ! ...Show more
Ha Wolski: No,killing does not steady a population and is ineffective. Otherwise there wouldn't be a hunting season every year. The reason the deer are overpopulated is bec! ause we are encroaching on their territory so they have no choice but to wander and find food. Speaking as someone who lives on a small island with more deer than people, hunting doesn't do jack to the population. All hunting does is eliminates competition for mating and food and it uses natural selection AGAINST an animal (The weak and sickly ones get eaten in the wild because they're the easiest to catch, and the strong ones thrive and breed. Humans kill the strong ones and go against nature, leading to an unnatural imbalance)This leads to overcompensatory population, where there is no competition so mating is easier. If you were to look at a graph of population after hunting season, it would be a roller coaster going down first then up again. That is not controlling a population. Recently DNR has started putting out salt licks with birth control in them around my area and that has appeared to help dramatically. Also, deer are herbivores, they would not eat my cat. All my ! pets get along with deer because they are in my yard so much....Show mo! re

Davis Zou: Those animals are treated so cruelly. And why should humans have more rights than animals? If you can kill a cow, why not kill a person?I don't think it's right. They're living.Edit: Digame-- Obviously I know that people do kill other people. But what I'm saying is why should it be okay for someone to kill an animal, but so horrible to kill a person? What makes humans better than animals?Wow....Show more
Jose Calaycay: I've always thought about converting to veggie, but it was actually a book that changed my views completely. Wish I had been a vegetarian my entire life. Skinny B**ch by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. Parts of it were difficult to read, especially the vivid stories about the pain animals suffer. The book quotes "If slaughterhouses had glass walls, we'd all be vegetarians." So very true! To answer your question more directly, I b! ecame a vegetarian to save innocent animals that have just as much a right to live as we do. I also made this personal choice to better my health. I wouldn't push vegetarianism on anyone, just as I wouldn't push religion...But I do recommend that everyone educate themselves, so that they at least know what's going on behind those walls. At least then, they can make an educated decision. Plus, becoming vegetarian or vegan helps the Earth in so many ways. Why not be veggie?...Show more
