Dale Mccoun: I would start right away with that high quality food it shouldn't be much of a problem mix whatever the breeder sends home with you. if you're uncomfortable with that you could get the small bag of whatever he's on
David Kuper: the breeder is going to give me about 3 days worth of the current food
Arnette Dominici: If you really need to change his food, I would give the puppy time to adjust to your home first. The water may even be different. After one or two weeks mix your brand in a little at a time over a couple weeks and then slowly he will have changed food and not even realize it.
Jefferson Sarson: breeder should give you 2 weeks worthi always take 2 weeks to do this,I make sure the change isn't sudden, this is from puppy to adult food, but I start to give the adult kibble as treats and see how it goes, then i start to change,1/5 of old food taken out,and add 1/5 of new food,do this 2 or 3 days, then 2/5 of old food out and add 2/5 of new ! food, and so on,Maybe you can stretch the breeders food,or ask for more, breeder should know better..I give 6 weeks worth,,a whole bag of food...Show more
